Slow Cooker Apple Crisp Dessert

INGREDIENTS
6 medium cooking apples, peeled, cored, sliced
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
3/4 cup butter or margarine, softened

Topping Suggestions:
Vanilla ice cream
Maraschino cherries
Whipped cream or whipped topping
DIRECTIONS
Grease crockpot, arrange slices in bottom. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, spices and butter. Cover the apples with this mixture. Tamp down lightly. Cook on HIGH for 3 to 4 hours, until apples are tender.
Serve in dessert dishes with any or all of the suggested toppings.

Delish! I added the juice of a quarter lemon to the apples and pinch of salt to the dough, which I really feel was necessary. Ugly but great tasting. |
