Soak the prunes in water overnight to plump them. Take them out of the water and put in slow cooker. Add the 2/3 cup boiling water, sugar, and citrus strips. Cook on HIGH for 3 hours. Remove the citrus peel, discard, and place the prunes in dessert serving dishes.Chill. Serve with chopped nuts and whipped cream or whipped topping.
