Halibut in Creamy Wine Sauce

INGREDIENTS
2 packages (12 oz. each) frozen halibut steaks, thawed
2 Tbs flour
1 Tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup dry white wine
2/3 cup milk
lemon wedges
DIRECTIONS
Pat the halibut steaks dry and place them in the slow cooker. In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt.In a sauce pan, melt the butter, and stir in the flour mixture. When well blended, add the wine and milk and cook over a medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Allow the sauce to boil for 1 minute while stirring. Pour the sauce over the fish. Cover and cook on High for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Garnish with lemon wedges.

This recipe is very nice. Cut up a white onion and 1/2 a lemon and laid them on top of the sauce while the fish cooked for extra flavor. |

This recipe came out great. I'm pretty accustomed to tweaking recipes to my own personal taste, and before I put the sauce in the cooker with the fish I blended it up with 2 roma tomatoes and a teaspoon of chile garlic sauce. YUM. |

I am not a good cook at all, and this was very easy to do. I had a hard time picking out wine, but it came out excellent! I did accidentally buy fish with bones, so watch out for that. The taste isn't super strong, which I was worried about.... other then my mistakes very good! |
