I omitted the bay leaf, parsley, garlic and celery and it tasted just fine. It was a little thin, so next time I would try using 5 cups of water. Overall a good, tasty soup and easy to make! I used cubed ham and would make it again. |

For the ham I bought the ham that has on in the package which is about 2 cups but I found I would have like it with 2 pkgs. Really thick so 7 cups hot water would do the trick. Great soup - will make again |

Followed it to the T and it came out great. Better than any split pea from a can. Chopped the carrots and used sliced ham after 4 hours on high, stirred it up and wow. |

Didn't have all the ingredients but was very easy and very nice. I used grated carrot. Didn't have any onions but used chives instead. Not keen on celery and didn't have it. A great budget saver. |
