INGREDIENTS
1 pound of boneless round steak - cut into 1/2 inch pieces
or
1 pound of ground beef
1 large onion chopped
2 medium celery stalks cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 20 oz can of diced tomatoes
1 15 oz can tomato sauce
3 tsp chili powder
2 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 medium bell pepper cut into 1 inch pieces
1 can 19 oz red kidney beans rinsed and drained
Shredded cheddar cheese if desired

DIRECTIONS
Mix all ingredients except bell pepper, beans and cheese in 3 1/2 - 4 quart slow cooker.
Cook on low for 6-7 hours.
Stir in bell pepper and beans.
Uncover and cook on high for 15 minutes.
Serve with cheese.

Loved this recipe-although I tweeked it some. I used 1lb. Bison burger, 1lb. chorizzo, 1tbs tabasco, 2 tbs whischire sauce, and a bay leaf. Made this recipe with chicken, beef, and italian sausage-You can't go wrong with this recipe!

I substituted the ground beef for ground turkey, and added 1 16 oz can of vegetable broth so that the chili wouldn't be too thick after 6 hrs of cooking. came out pretty good. always better next day

Fantastic chili! However, I made some modifications: I didn't use the boneless round steak and used 2 lbs. of ground beef instead (for a more classic chili). Also, if you like the kidney beans a little softer, it's ok to throw them in right away and let them cook with the other ingredients (rinse and drain them first). Also, this is a mild chili. If you want it hotter, simply replace the regular chili powder with HOT chili powder. That gives it some zing!

This was a good recipe and the spice was just right, however, for me it was a bit too chunky. I like my chili a bit more soupy/pasty rather than thick chunks. I'll make this again, but next time I'll cut out the top round and add some more tomato sauce. Good flavor though, very good.

I really enjoyed this recipe. This was the first chili and the first time I used a cooker. It was a sure hit! I recommend beef stew meat over ground beef.

Easy to prepare and make. Very good taste. I would increase the chilli powder and/or add cayenne or jalapenos, etc. if you like it hot. Base recipe is relatively mild.

I am not a cook by any means, but I decided to try this because it was easy to make and would be ready when I got off work, and it was awesome. I am even gonna take some to work tomorrow for a co-worker and my lunch.
